School Model

At Touchstone Education, we are re-imagining school.

We use a blended-learning model to deliver a personalized learning program for each and every one of our middle school students. Our talented teachers combine the best existing education practices with new learning technologies.

Elements of our school model

High Expectations/No Excuses School Culture: Touchstone schools have the highest academic and behavior expectations for staff and students, supported by a longer school day and year, as well as daily advisory sessions for all students.

Personalized Learning: Students work with teachers and online curriculum to learn what they need when they need it.

Targeted Instruction: Teachers work in subject matter teams to provide small group instruction and application of learning to ensure every student masters skills and content.

Real-Time Data:Students, teachers and parents have real-time access to data on student achievement, and teachers use this data to differentiate instruction on a daily basis.

What is Blended Learning @ Touchstone?

  • Each student has a laptop, access to online learning programs, and a personal learning plan that is directed by teachers.
  • Students work at their own level and pace while receiving feedback in real-time from teachers.
  • Teachers work in teams to serve as guides and facilitators to student groups.
  • Students advance based on mastery of content, not seat time. Curriculum from multiple grades is combined to promote individualized learning.
